Young Leaders PAC Extends Congratulations and Gratitude to 2019-2020 Cycle Endorsed Candidates

Updated: Dec 29, 2020

While not all of the committee's endorsed candidates prevailed, the Board of Governors is pleased to congratulate the candidates who made it past the finish line and are now representing California's students in their respective roles.

Earlier this month, President Rebucas described the results of the 2020 General Election as "a major victory for California's students. Congratulations to all the Young Leaders PAC's endorsed candidates who were duly elected by their constituents.

United States Representative Michelle Park Steel, 48th Congressional District

Assemblyman Kelly Seyarto, 67th Assembly District

Assemblywoman Janet Q. Nguyen, (Endorsed with Distinction), 72nd Assembly District

Assemblywoman Suzette Martinez Valladares, 38th Assembly District

Councilmember Richard P. Montgomery, Manhattan Beach City Council

Councilmember Sharon Kalani, Torrance City Council

Councilmember Mike Griffiths, Torrance City Council

While many of our endorsed candidates came out victorious, in a Republic, some may win and others may not. The Young Leaders PAC recognizes democracy in action, and respects the will of the voters when our candidates do not make it past the finish line.

The Board of Governors wishes to commend the the following people, who ran unsuccessful, though hard-fought campaigns. The committee encourages these same individuals to run again in the future, and sends their gratitude for their work in fighting for the interests of California's students.

The Honorable John M.W. Moorlach, 37th Senate District

Jessica Martinez, 57th Assembly District

Charles Cole, 37th Assembly District

June Cutter, 77th Assembly District

Ron Riggs, Torrance Unified School District Governing Board

The Honorable Ling Ling Chang, 29th Senate District

Dr. Aura Imbarus, Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District Governing Board

Altogether, the Board of Governors is enthusiastic to begin a brand-new term of office with a new elections cycle ahead. As the committee's mission states, we continue to proudly represent the interests of young Californians with respect, diligence, and a love for community.
